EB-3 Success Case: Hong Kong Family Approved via Consular Processing
EB-3 Hong Kong family success: NVC, consular interview, spouse and children visas. Whole-family green-card path.
Short answer: After the Hong Kong principal’s I-140 was approved and the priority date was current, the family used NVC → medical → consular interview. Civil documents, police certificates and support evidence were complete; the principal, spouse and unmarried minor children received immigrant visas in the same batch.
What is different in family cases
Each derivative needs passport, birth/marriage records and police certificates (when age applies). One expired or poorly translated document can stall everyone. This case managed each person with a checklist at NVC. See US EB-3 Employment-Based Immigration.
Milestones
| Stage | Result |
|---|---|
| I-140 | Approved |
| NVC | Documentarily qualified |
| Interview | Family visas issued |
Lessons
Overseas timing tightens after numbers are current; build notarization, translation and police-certificate validity into the plan earlier. Children near 21 need a separate CSPA assessment.
Global Immigrate’s recommendation
Hong Kong applicants should budget time for police certificates and notarization. Rehearse job and employer questions before interview. Do not discover inconsistent name spellings on marriage certificates only at NVC.

常见问题

Often arranged together; separate timing involves follow-to-join rules and must be planned.
Can university-age children be included?
What matters is unmarried status under 21 (including CSPA)—not student status alone.
Is the wait long for Hong Kong birth?
EB-3 often tracks worldwide numbers; follow the monthly Visa Bulletin.
Can this case be copied?
Document management can be modeled; interview and adjudication outcomes vary.
