How to read this table
- Your country of birth decides which row applies to you, not your citizenship. A spouse or child can sometimes use the principal applicant’s country.
- A visa number can be issued when your priority date (the date the labor certification was filed) is earlier than the final action date in your row. “Current” means no wait; “Unavailable” means no numbers can be issued.
- The dates for filing column shows when applicants may begin the next step (for example, submitting documents) under the chart USCIS or the National Visa Center selects each month. It is not the date a visa can be issued.
- Dates can move forward, stand still or move back. A date that moves back is called retrogression. No one can promise when a date will advance.
